Home again Home again.....
We are now 2 days into being home, which is in my opinion, the worst day. Vacation hangover has sent in full swing. Ours is amplified by the 3 hour time change and 20 hour trip home.
We had a great vacation. Jake and Liz's wedding was the most fun we've had in a long time with great friends and a much enjoyed night out. We actualy got 2 nights out since we had an overflow of babysitters we took full advantage, Thanks to Conrad and Abbie and Mom and Dad.
Our trip out to Pittsburgh was uneventful thankfully and we arrived at Deep Creek tired but to warm sun shine and the bluest skies you could imagine. Walter traveled great! He got a bit cranky of being in the car so long but just as we arrived to Oakland he'd decided he'd had enough. There were so many great moments of our trip: too many to share but the highlights were all the great food and company of our family, great food, warm sun, beautiful lake, sleeping in and did I mention great food? I'll have pictures up soon and some vidoes from the boat. Derek and Julie impressed for sure with their skills behind the boat. Me....not so much but I finally made it up, on ski's not the wake board, on the last day out. I'll try wake boarding again next year.
Our trip home was less eventful than I would have liked but thanks to everyone who was saying a few (or a lot) of prayers for a successful arrival to Seattle, we arrived 8 hours later than we anticipated and were home making food (dinner/breakfast)by 10am. This is probably an earlier start to our day than we would have gotten had our flight actualy left on time and arrived on time because we probably would have slept in but we were home, Camaron and Chris left and I enjoyed an early night. Evan enjoyed his first fathers day with an "all me" day where he got to do what ever he wanted. That included playing some new video game that was his fathers day present. I'm saving up my points for mothers day next year :)
The series of events from 2:30 pm PST when we left Pappa and Jo's to when we walked into our house just before 10am are hazy at best but the long and short of it is that there was "weather" in New York with caused us to a/ leave late b/ be re routed and wait on the plane in New Hampshire c/ arrive to JFK "just in time" to catch our connection (At midnight Saturday) d/wait around at JFK for a plane, departure time, and then pilot and finally e/finally leave JFK as the sun was coming up in New York. The crew at Jetblue was amazing and the other passengers were great. no one yelled or complained but just waited it out! Walter slept like and angel on the plane and we all enjoyed a few long naps yesterday to make up for the lost hours of sleep.
I'm off to relieve our temporary nanny. more from me later tonight maybe!
