Casey is doing better (last night)

I was affraid to come home: Affraid to bring Walter into the house but as we walked up we heard the familiar shake of the dog collar and Case greeted us as per usual. He manouvered quite well during dinner and rested on the landing most of the night. Today when I got up at 5:15 he raised his head but that was all. He is normaly up right with my alarm waiting for food and water. Evan said he didn't move all morning. Last night we heard quite a bit of licking and heaving breathing through the night; none of us are sleeping well. He is having a hard time using the bathroom because he can't squat. He was out about every half hour and only could pee. I have a call into the vet on that. He goes in on Saturday again and we will likely get xrays. We are so torn: we'll be out of town for a week, we don't want to leave this as someone elses "problem" so we are looking into a vet that would board him instead of having someone come to the house. Here is a video of him last night.

Busy Day!

Today Walter got his first haircut.  Because YouTube doesn’t like videos longer than 5 minutes, I broke this up to 4 videos.  Enjoy!  Following the videos of the haircut are pictures from the event and I’ve updated the September photos from this month thus far.

Camera Dump

My mom may be cool, but she won’t win the mom of the year award!  She lets me eat ice cream

EDIT: I removed one of the videos because it was longer than allowed.  I’m trying to find another service to host it.

But she did help me create a cool play room that’s just for me.  I can store all my toys here and there is lots of room for even more toys! DSC_3667 DSC_3665 DSC_3670

Go Pen’s and sharing

We thought we’d share part of our day at home on Tuesday

“Walter wants to take Casey on a walk”

Walter has been faithfully wearing his Pen’s shirt on game days but today they called and left a message on my cell phone that they tried to keep it on all day but it was “ruined”.  He caught it on something and tore it.  Then he spit his chili out so they took it off and wadded it in a ball and put it in a bag so when I got there, it could not be worn, we opted for the Pen’s bib instead.  I was also able to mend the shirt so the “it’s ruined” was a little dramatic…..hoping I can get the chili stains out.  I took a video of Walter eating tonight but it’s over 5 minutes long so I wouldn’t torture you all and it’s going to be hard to load on line because it’s so long.  It ended badly anyway when Walter threw is apple carrot sauce at me and I had to abruptly stop the video :)

Walter helping with chores

Everyone gets chores when we camp.  Walter is a very good “cleaner uper” so he gets to sweep and help with dishes.  Here Brian is showing him how to do the dishes.  Tere are more pictures found below.  Enjoy!

Warning: It's long

Here is a video from tonight. The last 2 nights I've gotten home about an hour earlier than normal because of my meeting schedule. So I've been able to enjoy a little down time before Walter gets hungry. He likes to go to his little toy corner and play and when I tried to quietly record him he would want me to come play with him so here is some of Walter's play time tonight.
It's good I was able to be out of the office this week so much, I'm struggling with some things there and the more I'm gone the better. I'm going to take a shower and finish up some projects tonight. I had a great run but as the sun set it got cold. We got MORE SNOW last night which melted today but it is cold enough to snow. Evan is resting. He was called in to work on a product fix before the ship that they decided not to fix so he doens't have to work so much at night now, which is nice for him. He hopes to ski with Brian again this weekend. Not me, I'm done with winter and although I'd like to ski, spending a day in the snow only encourges that weather.

I should point out Walters teach spiked his hair today. I like it but Evan doesn't and they put gel in it so now it has to be washed or be crazy for a few days. We didn't wash it tonight so crazy it is! Enjoy the video.

my first christmas gift

Thank you, Aunt Beverly, for my first Christmas gift which arrived this week, and mom already let me open (shhh don't tell Santa) I have 1 more gift that came with mom and dad's gifts from G'ma and G'pa K but mom won't let me open it yet. Only 1 a day she says. This is me playing with 1 of my 5 new doggies that even have their own dog house to play in. I hope that Andrew will watch my doggies when he watches Casey next week because I don't want them to be sad and lonely and my mom has already exceeded the maximum luggage allotment so the doggies have to stay in Seattle (along with most of my Christmas gifts from mom and dad). I hope Santa knows where to find me (I'll tell Andrew to send Santa to Bettendorf, too)

My car wash

The video camera cut out before I could get walter walking around with the carwash like it were a boom box circa 1982 but he does love that thing. (anyone notice who is doing the cooking while i sit on my lazy tookis? Yeah that's right, I make my husband cook while I play with my son. Not a bad life, huh!)

More Videos

It's been quite awhile since Walter has seen a lot of his family, so we'vc been loading up on the videos lately. Here are two more from this weekend. In tryin to get to the other side of his box, he ended up in the box.

He also has begun loving certain tv shows. Particularily this show on Nogin Jack something. He loves to dance along with it.

A card from Grandma B

My mom sent Walter a musical card. He loves it!

What did Walter do today?

Yesterday was Walters 10 month, 9 month check up (we were a little late for the 9 month mark). It went well. He is 31" and 21#, which leaves him still 80% height and 50% weight. He is cleared to eat almost everything but honey, eggs whites and shellfish. Walter has been eating much better recently and actualy prefers to eat instead of drink his calories for the day as witnessed in the video above. He has a slight heart murmur and what is looking like/sounding to be asthma. I'm not surprised, he wheezes more than I think he should when he is congested. It is not diagnosed as Asthma yet but in 2 months when he goes back she will check it again. It could be brought on by allergies but he is otherwise completely healthy and he was quite wheezy. Also his 2 top teeth are RIGHT THERE close to coming out. She showed me how she could see it and asked if he was up at night. Surprising teething hasn't been that bad on us!

As is most of the time the case, Walter does something funny and we enjoy watching it until we realize that it's bad habits forming. He has been feeding the dog from his tray and it's creating a problem for Casey, so we are now trying to stop it. Here is how Casey spends most of Walters meal times:

Walter is on to his game and supports this as much as he can by feeding him. He thinks it's fun. He also likes to feed me! I encourage that because it is sharing!

We had a great idea to go to the park tonight for a picnic. It lasted 30 minutes from when we left the house becuase it was cold! Walter was the only one dressed warm enough and I'm not even sure he was. It makes me think I have to go get him hats, gloves, coat, and maybe even boots soon! Wait, isn't it Labor Day?

I also thought the days were gone when we'd go through 4 outfits a day. Walter's first outfit this morning is now wearing coffee since he got curious what was in daddy's cup. It was already cold and most of it ended up on the floor and rug but he got his share. His second outfit, Evan likes to call his gay ninja outfit, was ruined at nap time because the Pampers "cruisers" diapers don't seem to do as good of a job as our favorite Pampers and the 3rd outfit fell subject to the same issue when Walter had a dirty diaper later in the day. Here is Walter saying "hi" in the "gay ninja" outfit, I happen to like it. And he's even got the "knife wound" to match his outfit.
