So much to be thankful for

Oh where do we begin?  I’ll start with highlights in pictures for those with a shorter attention span and then provide a very thorough update on our weekend and the start to our week today.

Cammie, Conrad and Abbie came to visit and we all had a great time.  The kids played together.

We had pretty typical Seattle January weather.

The highlights of the weekend were so many but started with a good amount of relaxing and catching up:  Some sight seeing of some of our favorite spots:  The Market, Gas Works Park, Alki Beach, Trophy Cupcake, The Ram, Chinese Food, and of course Rogue for dinner one night.  Abbie and I got some shopping in (mostly kids stores :)) and we did a lot of relaxing.  The three of them were the perfect house guests and it was one of the best weekends we’ve had together since we’ve lived here.  Thanks for coming guys and for giving us such great memories.

Friday we got to go on a nice short but steep hike to Twin Falls.  The kids loved their backpack rides and their dads enjoyed the chance to give their legs and backs a good work out.

I think my favorite part was watching the kids get to know each other more and share so many things.  I loved seeing the looks they would share and watching them play together.  Cam is growing so fast as we don’t get nearly enough time together but I loved this quite time together.

Walter had a pretty good day today.  Came home asking for Cammie.  Wanted to know what Cammie had for dinner, and wanted to eat Conrad’s dinner (left over chinese).  He asked what book Cammie wanted to read and said good night to her before bed.  Such a sweet boy.  He had a good day at school too; came home very happy, was very sweet and polite at dinner.  Said a lot of very grown up things.  He colored a picture that is very grown up and when I can figure out why the scanner won’t work I’ll share that too.  For now, I’m tired and going to get some work projects done before going to bed early.

Much love to all, if you’ve made it this far :)

Mt Washington

Realizing full well that every day we get like this is borrowed time we decided to head out on a hike today with the Wahlerts.  We had a nice time but it was actually much cooler on the mountain than at our house (duh) and Walter was cold and tired so he didn’t enjoy the last 30 minutes or so. We had the please of bringing Flat Stanley (Emma’s school project with us) so he enjoyed the hike the most I think)DSC_4381

Evan decides he’d rather do up than down:  Fine by me!  Although my thighs do like to work out up more than down.DSC_4399
