We started a new schedule this week because of Evan's desire to "be less fat" (his words not mine). He keeps telling me he needs clothes then I buy him some and he won't wear them because he doesn't like the way they look so he wants to "be less fat" so he can wear them. He also knows how hard it is for me when he comes home from work at 7 and works out for an hour and gets no time with Walter and I before bed so he decided 2 days a week he's going to get up in the morning and work out. He'll also work out either Monday or Thursday evenings since those nights I'm usually working out with the dog and baby when he gets home. Plus 2 days on the weekend. I now take Walter into Day care Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
I forgot to tell daycare this and he is normally not in until after 9 so today I had to walk around the building trying to find someone. We did luckily find the whole crew but it gave us a chance to tour the school! Since it's going to be in the 90's and there is no air, they were hiding out in the basement. There is a law of some sort that Walter/infants are not allowed to be with the older kids when it is just him because it changes the ratio of teach to child or something like that but I asked if they could "forget" about that today and let him be outside since it's likely to get stifling inside. The poor guy could not get to sleep last night because it was so hot. We had to strip him down to his diaper and give him a bottle of cold water to get him to settle down. By about 11pm his room was the coolest room in the house so he slept pretty well from then.
I also decided today that Walter is getting a new 'big boy' car seat this week. We have been talking about making the switch for a few weeks now but today was the final straw. I can no longer carry him in his carrier with anything else and not fall so we are going to get a big one and keep his current one in Evan's car so we don't have to get the carrier into and out of the car anymore. It's sad and exciting at the same time.
The block party was pretty fun last night. Not like dancing on the tables fun but 90% of the people there were grandparents and were original owners of their house so it was very interesting for me to hear them talk about what it was like when the lived "in the country" which anyone who as been to our house might find that hard to believe. We are exactly 3.7 miles from the first down town exit via the highway. It was very interesting. On that note, we have pretty much decided we are going to focus our house search to an area of town called "south cove" in Issaquah. Issaquah used to be "in the country" but is now about 10 miles out of Seattle on I90. It's the last of "seatttle" before you hit the moutains or foot hills. South Cove is the western most part of the town on the south tip of Lake Sammamish. There are houses few and far between in our price range so our hope is having 5 months to find one we will be able to find something. there are at least 3 in the last 6 months that have sold with a 4 as the first number (very promising) and 2 currently on the market that are with in our do-able range so we feel pretty confident we will find something there if we are patient and keep on it. Here is a quick map of where we are now, where we work and where we are thinking to move. You might have to zoom out a bit to get it all to fit. I never really thought we'd be suburban people but so it might be!
